I know exactly how challenging, time consuming and disappointing it can be when you are trying to get wholesale orders from retailers.
My first book arrived in print in January 2018 and I had a second book 6 months later. I dealt with a handful of retailers who loved my books and began supporting me. Including TWO wonderful Muslimah-run retailers in the Maldives!
But there were many retailers who either didn’t reply or, they showed admiration for my books but never placed an order.
Then the story changed when two things happened.
Firstly, I got a YES from Kube, a well-established, reputable distributor, Alhamdulillah! That freed me up to work on book number 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Secondly, when I had 6 books published, there was much more interest in me as an author and publisher. I fulfilled many retailer orders myself. And Kube took care of the majority of retailer orders.
Alhamdulillah and thanks to Kube, my books reached many more homes than I could have managed by myself.
Now here I am, 5 years later, a multi-award-winning author and publisher of over 15 books that have benefited families worldwide in the thousands (almost 30,000 copies) – Alhamdulillah!
Over the years, authors have asked for tips about reaching more customers and I highly recommended Kube (and still do). Because I understand the reasons why retailers don’t order from lone authors/publishers and prefer to deal with a distributor, particularly Kube. But now there are so many authors (Allahumma Baarik), Kube cannot distribute for everyone.
This is where I decided to step in. As a second option for authors –to complement Kube, not to compete. My Bismillah Bees books are still being distributed by them, but will also now be distributed by Dreams and Duas.
